How to Change frontpage layout in Joomla 1.5

Hi Joomla fans, in this Joomla tutorial we will be changing the layout of the frontpage in Joomla. Using this method you can control just about anything on your frontpage.

To begin, please go to Joomla back-end via this url: “your_site/administrator” (e.g:http://vinaora.com/joomla/administrator/)

• Navigate to “Menus” -> “Main Menu“
• Select the Home menu item
• There are several parameters you can change. If you mouse over each parameter you will see a description of what the parameter controls
• We’ll change to 2 leading articles. This will show 2 articles at full width before the 2 column layout takes over
• We’ll turn off the newsfedd link
• We’ll set the title of each article to be linked. This behaves the same as the Read More link and links directly to the article’s page
• We’ll hide the created Date and Time
• And we’ll hide the hits
• And we don’t want the home page to show as ssl, so we will disable it.
• Then save the changes
• Our changes have been saved, let’s see what it looks like
• We can see that the columns were setup like we set, the created time was gone and the titles were clickable
